Some really good things here but shows potential for growth in future places. The tone here is tough to nail and there are times where Novak fails, sometimes falling back into comedy roots and other times amping up emotions in way that does not make much sense. Sunshine Hotel 2001
A fascinating story of some forgotten people living in a hotel in New York that does not contain rooms exactly, but partitions covered with chicken wire. These were already becoming less common when this movie was made back in 2001 and they have all but disappeared in today's ultra expensive New York. Each of these guys has been left behind by society largely due to mental illness and substance abuse, but this film gives them a real humanity.
