    Between Two Ferns: The Movie

Between Two Ferns: The Movie is inconsistent and tonally messy. The story is very thin and almost inconsequential. This movie tries to be a mockumentary a la The Office or What We do in the Shadows, but sometimes the movie completely forgets about it only to be referenced back just to remind the audience.

The jokes are all over the place. For every clevery written jokes, there are also dumb and unfunny jokes. Also, the characters acknowledge how stupid the…

In the documentary world, there is this idea that a photographer or documentarian need to be as anonymous and faceless as possible and shouldn't intervene with what they are shooting. Cameraperson follows or at least tries to, this rule. Kirsten Johnson tries to be behind the camera all the time only asking relevant question to the object at hand. Even the title itself, Cameraperson, sounds impersonal.

However, this movie can't help but exudes genuine heart and character from the interviewees…

    Airplane Mode

Racist, sexist, crude just for the sake of it. No comedic value at all. In fact, it doesn't have any value at all.

    Johnny English Strikes Again

The jokes here are too obvious. You can see the punchline from miles away. However, even with the poor writing, Rowan Atkinson still try his best to make the jokes work. His demeanors and expressions are on point most of the time even though this type of humour is not my cup of tea.

The story is too simple and cliched. You don't really care for other characters besides Johnny English. Jake Lacy's performance is passable but it is a one-dimensional villain.

If you are Rowan Atkinson's fans this movie is for you. If you are expecting more than that, you'll be disappointed.
