Time to cut out the cancer.
James Wan drove in the gore and psychological twist in this movie.
The story started out one way and soon turned its path a different way that made it interesting. The characters were decent and carry the story. However it wasn’t a strong engage to these characters. Leaving the kills a bit meh. Gory for sure but they didn't stand out.
I will say the twist in this was cool. As much as this movie had a R rating to it, it felt like a PG standing with gory tones added to bump up the rating. As we near the ending with reveal, the effects did get ramped up.
Overall this was a good watch though not a strong one from Wan. It gave some good effects, gore, and a cool reveal. Plus the ending was a pretty WTF time.
