i honestly underestimate ‘casablanca’ sometimes. this was my second viewing (since i had fallen asleep the first time), and i think i was expecting so much - but, in return, i got so little. and i’m not complaining about that either.
if i had to describe my viewing experience, i’d say this movie is just... classic. simple, cute, yet extraordinary in the smallest and simplistic of ways. i really enjoyed more than i thought i would’ve when it came to this second round of viewing.
not to mention, it’s shorter than i thought! jesus, i blink and all of a sudden we’re at the airport scene. who would’ve guessed?
in general, it isn’t one of my favorites, but it’s definitely an intruiging, cozy, and lovely classic.
