This was terrible, but I can't keep a couple of the tunes out of my head. I actually found it hard to believe that the film was as ridiculously as it was.

  • Dunkirk

Not really what I was expecting, and different than standard Nolan. Grim. I was unsurprised by the use of Elgar's "Nimrod". My favourite bits were the external shots of Spitfires. Wonderful machines!

    The Lunchbox

    Lovely film.

  • Frozen

It's weird watching a film that has been such a big part of the public consciousness and pop culture for past few years. I had heard pretty much all of the main songs before - it's much better hearing them in context. I probably thought I would find Frozen a bit trite, I'm not sure why, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not the most exciting or mind-blowing story, and if you had time to think you would work out…

  • Mulan

I'd heard great things about Mulan, so I was expecting to really enjoy it. That way lies doom and disappointment. The story was pretty boring, and the songs didn't really do it for me. Yes, in 1998, it was probably noteworthy for the way it tackled gender roles. But it's 2018 now and I wasn't particularly impressed. Didn't love the songs. No desire to watch again any time soon.

  • Bambi

This was cute. I was pretty tired when I watched this film (Bamb I; can't wait for the sequel Bamb II) so my brain wasn't fully engaged. I definitely wasn't able to appreciate it fully. However, it was beautiful, and I loved the attention to detail in the animation. The accents were a lovely touch, although, like Michael, I also enjoyed the long scenes without speech. I didn't find the sad moments especially sad, but that was probably my mood. For me, the sadness was mostly 'the circle of life' type sadness, which I could handle at the time.

    The Death of Stalin

I wasn’t quite able to give this film my full attention. I think I would get more out of it on a second, more focused viewing. That said, I enjoyed it and it was a lot of fun.

    This was decent.

  • Aladdin

Good but don't think I'll feel like watching it again any time soon. Best bit was Robin Williams of course!

  • Tangled

Just remember that I thought it was decent.

  • Alice in Wonderland

    Alice in Wonderland

Pretty bonkers. Didn't get much out of it.
