Much like Uncut Gems, this movie is an hour and a half long heart attack. Pattinson’s character is so high stress and it can be felt constantly. Especially with the contrast of his brother Nick, who is developmentally challenged, you can tell how he’s loved this life of adrenaline and crime for a while.
The way the film is shot fits perfectly with the high speed energy — there are a ton of closeups that let us see every emotion, and the cameras always seem so sensitive, like it could whip in any direction at any time. I really enjoyed this, and I see why it convinced Sandler to do Uncut Gems.
