Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest ★★★

Tons of issues with this sequel. At 2 and 1/2 hours, it's rather incredibly drawn out, bloated, tonally confused, and this was the start of turning such an awesome character in Jack Sparrow, into basically a laughing stock. Which becomes even more problematic when Will and Elizabeth aren't very interesting main characters themselves. With that being said, there's still enough fun set pieces, and a fun performance from Bill Nightley as Davy Jones to make this a mostly enjoyable second outing. And, despite not my overly fond memories of At World's End, the final scene still makes for a awesome tease to the next installment.
