Went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Now I'm not calling this great, it's alright, bit dull in parts though but still, okay enough for me. Expected this to be grittier too, actually pretty light-hearted and fun, the grim landscape goes against that but looks great. Of course in the end, all Robin had to do was take one damn lash at the start and none of that death and taxation would have happened...
Police officers with a side job in real estate and yoga don't really make the most entertaining stories. I mean I see the angle, whilst investigating a murder, the side jobs create some wacky off-roads that bring all the humour, problem is, valuing a house isn't really comedy gold. I for some reason can't bring myself to give this a lower score, I mean I think it looks nice so there's that, and Harrison Ford is always good fun, just not AS much when his character is made more for brokering deals and less about solving a massacre.
At first I wasn't that impressed with this weed dealing, robbing boxers, Matthew McConaugheying gangster-comedy, but by the end I was fairly entertained. It's a spiderweb of London underworld tales, of blackmail and of course drugs, but also just a lot of c words plastered everywhere. It's kind of funny, I didn't laugh my head off though, but the more important plot and the interesting characters were enough for me to call this a pretty good one all in all.
I had very high expectations for this one, but this for me wasn't that funny at all. Okay so it has its moments, even tender family warmth moments, but most of the jokes fell flat with me, and there's only so much of Chevy Chase hurting himself I can be bothered with. Like I said, it's not completely without humour, and not extremely unwatchable, but this Christmas one was really not for me.
