Madeleine’s Madeline was my favorite film of the last decade, so obviously I was thrilled for Shirley. I was not disappointed. Decker channels the chaotic energy of her previous work and focuses it into a whirlwind of a movie never feels like is rests. Moss is incredible and Decker’s camera always all of her wonderful subtlety to peak through every scene. Also watch with headphones! Decker’s work has a remarkable knack for sound design that is eons beyond every other working filmmaker.
