Scott Wise’s review published on Letterboxd :
Great sound design and some equally impressive acting chops on display - by Chastain and the children - simply aren't enough to save this tangled floating mess of a film.
Some genuinely interesting ideas (feral children, a maternal connection to a crooked spirit) are completely overshadowed by literally every ghost-horror cliché that exists. We've got your institutionalization, some historic murder, a psychiatrist in over his head, and even some poorly-lit videotape exposition. And that's for starters.
Some moments of truly grotesque and nail-biting shock-sequence moments are ruined by a finale that leaves nothing to the imagination.
