I love this movie's descent into madness, and how it shows that during the Vietnam War instead of fighting as a cohesive front the US basically had individual armies scattered all over with little communication. I was at a 5 but the last 20 minutes or so really drag on for me.

The Derek Huff award goes to Martin Sheen, the actor who played Captain Willard. He did a very good job at portraying a shell shocked soldier who at the same time just wants to be in the bush.

I had seen parts of this movie, but never the whole thing beginning to end. Now I have no idea why. Everything about this movie seemed done to perfection. The acting, the cinematography, the score. This movie was like the magnum opus of Michael Mann's directing style.

I've never been this conflicted about who gets the Derek Huff award before. Both Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro gave powerhouse performances but ultimately it goes to the writer and director, Michael Mann. Now please excuse me while I go and do my penance for never watching this whole movie before.

When I was a little kid I must've seen this movie at least 50x on VHS, and let me tell you, it's just as good today on 4k. It's perfectly edited so one scene just flows into another, and it seems like there isn't a second of screen time that's wasted. The only thing that I noticed on this watch was... if Burns had poor vision and Imhotep took his eyes, wouldn't he have shitty vision too? It's a dag-gone…

It was just one of those days where I wanted nothing more than to sit back, relax, and put on this masterpiece. There really isn't a plot so much but a reason to get from one fantastically gory scene to the next, and heck, I am in a better mood now.

The Derek Huff award goes to Xavier Gens, the director. A lot of the New French Extremity films have pretty ridiculous (in a good way) plots but I think this one wins first place.

A very good movie, with an excellent mix of jump scares with suspense. Justin Long does a hilarious job as the comic relief.

One thing though, release the snuff films you cowards. I feel like I was short changed when A.J. hits play but then it skips ahead to the end. Maybe they'll be on the director's cut.

Awesome movie, had a blast. One thing keeps nagging at me though... Even if Allison Williams manages to avoid charges I imagine she'd still be liable in multiple wrongful death lawsuits.
