What an unbelievably strong premise for a film; what an marvellously deft realisation of it. Jim Carrey, hot off his roles as Ace Ventura and The Mask, betrays these films by creating a character of immense depth and longing. Don't read anything around it before watching - the film can speak for itself enough.

Maybe you would think that a film written by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck would be an utter waste of time, but it defies expectations by being a cinematic powerhouse. The dialogue between Damon and the venerable Robin Williams lift the material to a film full of heart, soul, and character, compounded by its universal themes of maturation and belonging. Not one to miss.
