Wow. WOW. W-O-W.
Bong Joon-ho films always strike a very specific tone, one that combines many disparate emotions into one absurdist package, and Parasite does so with total perfection. The film's layers of dark comedy, suspense, class consciousness and meticulous heist film plot points unfold with a level of grace that is unparalleled in contemporary cinema. This might be Bong's best film, although Memories of Murder is still standing strong.
