all i could think about while watching was if this would make sense to anyone in 25 years when instagram and other social medias shown in this are obsolete or even to anyone 10 years back when influencers weren’t a thing like i normally hate media that hyperfocuses on the now and overindulges in micro fashion trends and slang and mannerisms because it won’t be timeless and understood by everyone but i think this is a very good movie that still reigns important even if it won’t be understood entirely in 25 years

everyone's criticizing this movie bc it's cliche but that's exactly what we need!!!!! more cliche cringy movies but queer. it didn't shy away from uncomfortable moments and truths that come with being queer, being desi, and queerness in desi culture. it may not be the best movie ever but it achieved what it was designed to do, and created a good foundation for queer bollywood movies which may follow. and also i cried so so much there's like tears in my eyes as i type not even joking

reminds me of those kids in grade school who'd end all their stories with "and it was all a dream"
