Letterboxd — Your life in film

apologies to any filmbros this might offend. i know my low ratings of "classics" may get annoying but holy shit i am clearly not the audience for this type of thing. i stg i wanna watch these super well-known gangster/mobster movies just to feel the least knowledgeable in the field of film but most of them are like 2 and a half to 3 hours long and they're always so gd BORING i end up fast forwarding through the whole thing bc i just can't wait for it TO END why do people rate these so highly i'll never understand

this movie absolutely did not age well in any way and anyway why the fuck would a movie about some gross middle aged man wanting to fuck an underage girl win best picture anyway i stg

it made me laugh a little at certain points so it gets an extra half star but in general i couldn't really tell you anything else i liked because everything felt so cringeworthy and pretentious

after failing to see what was so great about 8 1/2, i decided to watch this and... yeah... i think i can safely say this kind of movie is not my cup of tea

can't stand the dubbing, or the lack of a coherent plot, or the main character, or the way women are treated, which... now that i think about it... were my main issues with 8 1/2 too....... there might be a pattern here

was this necessary? i think not

excruciatingly boring and clichéd. i'd like to thank the oscars for giving this a nom and thereby forcing me to actually watch it
