Daniel Kibbe’s review published on Letterboxd:
What it lacks in the way of traditional character motivation it makes up for with terrific action scenes and brilliant technical elements. An auteurist action film from two stunt guys. Could be seen as a purposeful commentary on the pettiness of revenge (despite any satisfaction it may deliver in the moment). Reeves is Reeves, out to kill everybody ever because the Russian people killed his dog. It's a simple but effective enough set-up, that has a subtly remarkable sense of worldbuilding. Still, the real star of the film is the direction, the choreography, the sheer precision with which this film is executed. It's a visceral throwback that's easily one of the best action films in a while. Remarkable.
