    Being John Malkovich

I had to sit and think about this one... The movie has some really funny moments that spawn from the contrast between the normal world and the absurd elements surrounding Kusack’s character. In a way it’s exactly what it says on the tin, being John Malkovich, but it’s much deeper than just a comedy: the implications of some of the themes discussed in the film leave you thinking long after the movie’s over. I loved it. I’ll definitely need to watch it again just to fully comprehend it.

  • Empire of the Sun

    Empire of the Sun

Empire of the Sun has that typical Spielberg schmaltz that I love. It balances intimate character driven scenes with huge spectacles for an exciting watch. Great first performance from Christian Bale too.

  • The Goat

    The Goat

    Charming little silent movie.

  • The Handmaiden

    The Handmaiden

Sick movie. Great relationship between the two central characters and a plot that had me gripped til the end. Also points for amazing cinematography and score.

Great premise that remains suspenseful and terrifying throughout. It's a horror film on par with Get Out & A Quiet Place. It's full of long lingering shots and accompanied with a nail biting score. Only the ending, I felt, did not live up to the quality of the rest of the film but still great all around.
