    Sorry We Missed You

    ★★½

I absolutely loved I, Daniel Blake, but with Sorry We Missed You I just didn't feel it. I missed the emotional connection with the characters. Maybe that was because of the amateuristic acting, which felt very forced.

Also there are some weird fades between some scenes and the whole wasn't cut together very good.

The message is an important one and is communicated effectively in the first hour, but then the social-realism becomes melodrama, all hope of resolution seems lost.…

One of the most emotional, heartbreaking, yet utterly essential documentaries of the 2010s.

This is an intense documentary film made by Waad al-Kateab. It should be required viewing for all people, to gain an understanding and to take a small glimpse into the lives of those in Syria during the past few years.

Stunning performances by Pattinson and Dafoe. Absolutely loved the cinematography and the sound, but other than that, there’s really not much to it..

Cute animation and loved the vivid colors, but didn't really impress me. Maybe it was because of the Dutch/Flemish dubbing, which really irritated me..

Beautiful opening sequence, in which the two central characters explain what they love about each other. Unfortunately everything following is too surface level, to the point where we're watching a story defined by the motions of divorce rather than defined by the characters set up in that opening.

But damn, Adam Driver is a great actor and I loved the part where he started singing.

Beautiful film, based on a true story, that shows in an honest way how sad the situation for the autistic community can be: being ignored by healthcare institutions. Luckily there are still people in the world with a passionate heart. Excellent performance by Vincent Kassel and breathtaking soundtrack by the Grandbrothers.
