I enjoyed a lot of this. A lot of it was super predictable. The ending had about 3 phases and the whole movie was about 30 minutes too long.
Really really really dug this. Good, effective horror that relies more on setting, situation and character to creep you out than jump scares and bass rumbles on the soundtrack. To say much more would be to ruin it but I highly recommend it for people who like The Descent or, to some degree, The Witch. Gives a horror fan like me hope that movies like this still get made.
Enjoyable but kind of confusing exactly what Martin McDonagh was trying to do here. What was this about? I dunno. But Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell are as good as they always are, so still thoroughly watchable all the way through, even if it kinda results in a wobbly aftertaste.
