Just a young guy trying to experience all that film has to offer
Decent movie, but had one big failing. We are shown in the movie that Bond falls in love with Swann, and that she loves him as well, which is driving point in the plot. We we are actually shown as well, not told, which is something some movies fail to do. The main issue, then, is the fact that we are not shown why they fall in love. It feels forced and out of nowhere. At least in Casino Royal they attempt to provide a motive for the love.
Overall, the movie was pretty entertaining, and continued the story of the series along well enough.
I have watched and enjoyed many boxing movies in my time, and the hardest thing for one to do is stand out and tell a truly unique story. Million Dollar Baby really does. In the beginning of the movie I didn't really like the direction it seemed like it was heading, but by the end of the movie I felt that it had said its piece, and I was glad to have stuck it through.
