Letterboxd — Your life in film

this is meant to be a horror movie but it's genuinely really funny. also there is full frontal dick for absolutely no reason. comedy genius

is this movie dumb? yes. did i have an incredible amount of fun watching it? also yes.

If I'm going to force myself through von Trier's indulgent narcissistic rant there may as well be better gore. Nonetheless, it's competent, and I actually really like the way it's formatted.

In many ways this film is average, but thematically it's about as relatable as possible. A deranged feminine hunger... so rabid and delicate.

Fight Club but with mommy issues.

If I wasn't a fan of the book I wouldn't have known what was happening. Theo is not portrayed as enough of stupid homoerotic simp. Not enough Kotku.

I just remember when Hoult said "you like jaaazzzz" and I had to explain to my 62 year old father why that made me laugh and how it related to bees.

I would have liked this movie a lot more if I wasn't forced to see Willem Dafoe's penis.

I don't know why I've seen this film multiple times, but every single time I get really creeped out by the weird yellow face. I get what they were going for, but the SFX did not turn out well.

Just- so blase. Fine I guess, but still a carbon copy of every other competent period piece.

Too much work for a result that is not special at all
