Racism and anti-Blackness continue to be all too prevalent in the Arab community and it needs to end. I'm compiling this list of films by Black filmmakers as a small way to combat our own anti-Blackness, educate ourselves about our Black cultures in the region and support Black artists.

I prefer to err on the side of inclusion over exclusion so we’re covering all Black filmmakers from the region and not just those who identify as Arab, especially because it’s good for us to see and understand non-Arab experiences in the region as well!
