:: to all those adolescents who underwent cheap e-procedures of self-transcendence with the screen as a mediator and confiner of what they cultivated :: to those who stared slackjawed and giddy at the fact that they could find a way to make their body boundless, something without end, something where identity was contingent on strands of text only, and where nothing existed beyond those words :: to those who wished they could feel something different, something other than a permeating lack, and by this voluntarily signing up to a defamiliarising program for the signifiers of fake and real, all in the name of needing that blind faith to rematerialise ::
(p.s. i think if this is marketed as a horror film it will significantly tank its reception BUT it unsettled me more than most things have recently though i am exactly the sort of person to feel that way)
