there’s literally nothing i can say that hasn’t been said already.
the way the 2 stories run side by side his handled beautifully, my favourite part is seeing young vito rise from the lowest of the low to being the godfather. the main story lacked a little something in comparison to the godfather one, but was still flawless and picked up insanely toward the end, beautiful ending.
the cinematography and score were flawless, not quite used to the levels they were in part 1 tho.
the acting was phenomenal as we all know. Al Pacino delivers a career best performance for me. Robert De Niro is top tier too, but didn’t manage to reach Marlon Brandos levels as Vito Corleone.
Marlon Brandos presence is something that i felt was truly missed, i already appreciated it so much but not having it here has made me appreciate it even more. rip🙏
for me, this isn’t quite as strong as part 1. it doesn’t strike me the same.
