it’s a great honor watching the archived footage of his runways on a big screen. from the time i knew of mcqueen to today, i find myself playing the shows on youtube as one of my favorite sources of inspiration. voss, especially. sometimes i’m sad over the thought of never getting to see his mind unleashed in person, but mostly am relieved to know his art ever existed for a time.

the ways depression, anxiety and pressure manifest itself to cause such pain and harm inwards and outwards is hard for me to watch as i know that crippling destruction so well, but it’s sincerely humanizing for me to see what can be built from history, experience and darkness through passion, focus and a dream.

i hope he’s with his mum, both at peace.
