ah i love when films take advantage of the fact that cinema isn’t a literal medium and exploit the suspension of belief to its limits. this doesn’t take the usual approach of biopics just being a film replicating moments of their life, it uses the conventions of a musicals to illustrate the person that is elton john. oscar worthy performance from taron edgerton here and i found myself caring for a man’s music that i probably would have ignored if i hadn’t seen this movie. good job.
