Midsommar ★★★★½

It’s a little too leisurely paced given the relatively straightforward premise, but Aster’s such a fantastic visual stylist that you end up excusing some of the screenplay’s shortcomings.

You can’t help but admire how weird and deeply depraved all of it is, and in a year dominated by superhero movies and other soulless corporate cash grabs, Aster’s vision feels that much more refreshing.
