I loved this!! It’s short and sweet and is such an interestingly funny take on how social media technology affects our daily relationships and I love how Miranda July expresses it in such a surreal and poignant way!
Honestly I thought there were enough Saw films to justify not having Saw rip offs but hey this is just a PG version of Saw. I mean I don’t even enjoy the Saw franchise but this film takes everything that makes those films semi watchable and just butchers it. Like I understand if this was a Netflix film or something like that, but the fact that this made it to cinemas is ridiculous.
One of Cocteau’s best! A wonderful and surreal rumination on art and death and how these two things entwined relate to and influence our perception of mortality and immortality. Paired with a fantastic score which often moves into musique concrete territory, predating the popularisation of musique concrete by about 20 years! This really is an essential watch for any film lover and showcases the multi faceted creativity of Cocteau!
