You Were Never Really Here

This film really pulls you in deep from the first shot and never let's go until the credits, resulting in this dark and brutal 90-minute experience that just flies by.

Extremely well edited by Joe Bini, in both the pacing department and how these reoccurring flashbacks are handled, with them being sprinkled all over the film in scarce amounts, never giving you the whole scene all neatly put together in a bow. It really made it feel like these were genuine memories that Joe was experiencing, adding to the feeling of the viewer being deep in his psyche. Should also give a mention to Thomas Townend's great cinematography and Jonny Greenwood's pulsing, yet luscious at times, score.
