The fluid animation and modern style make this movie interesting and independent despite being a spin-off of Whisper of the Heart. It maintains the attention to detail and beautiful scenery that are Ghibli staples but has a really unique charm that make it really stand out for me. Goofy, slightly more mature humour and some really fantastic expressions help the movie forge its own path while still staying true to the Ghibli style.

This is fine but the fact that IMDB rates it higher than Spirited Away is proof that you should never let a company influence your decision on anything ever
