I’m not gonna lie, this movie was confusing as fuck. I think I understand it better now. The film follows Naomi Watts’ character, Betty Elms as she aids Rita, a woman who has amnesia from a car accident. The two go on a journey to discover who Rita really is. We learn that this is essentially a dream. The second half shows us that Watts, now Diane Selwyn’s real life, and the actual portrayal of the characters we’ve come to know. Watts’ character, much like an unreliable narrator, gives us very different depictions and tropes of the characters. I think the storyline was good in the end, I just can’t stand Lynch’s pacing.
P.S: Bruh, if Billy Ray Cyrus fucks your girl, you gotta just kill yourself.
