Burt and Kris spend most of the movie dressed up like they are Dusty & Magnum cutting a promo on the Koloffs. It is kind of the greatest.

They don’t make em like this anymore, they didn’t make ‘em like it before and, frankly, they only made one other like it in ‘77 and that was Slap Shot. It doesn’t have the poetry and soul of Newman’s film but it’s funnier and it’s hard to beat the trio of Clayburgh-Reynolds-Kristofferson.

Shadows are falling, and Clint’s been here all day.

On the one hand, I enjoyed this and am a sucker for low key hangout road movies.

On the other hand, I spent nearly two hours really stressed out that he would literally break or have a heart attack when Dwight Yoakam was yelling at him.

    For Norm.

Too many people from this silly ass movie are gone.

Even though TCM2 isn’t as fallen from the sky perfect as the original, I love it just as much. It’s as right for ‘86 as TCM was for ‘74. It’s Cannon so it’s coked up to the gills but Hooper still has a lot on his mind with this movie and the way the breakdown of society was being repackaged and glossed over in the new corporate age.

Also, one of the best casts of any 80s horror flick. Also also, “Dog will hunt!”
