A beautiful look at early blues music, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is an amazing film with some of the best performances ever seen. With Chadwick's last performance he put on an absolute show with three monologues that makes me even more sad about his untimely passing. Both Viola Davis and Colman Domingo also give extraordinary performances that left me speechless ... TWICE!! With some great direction and a beautiful use of color I had to up this movie to a 4.5/5. Although there is some odd digital zooms and weird changes in tone but come on! It's phenomenal, almost a five, I cried, hallelujah!
A one, a two, this movie is so true
