What a lovely movie. Cinema of the delightful, life if it was just a little bit zanier, a little bit more colorful, and a little bit more willing to produce high school stage productions with the budget of a Kubrick film. The young naivety of romance and the everlasting naivety of love, ever in search of someone who just understands us. Completely faking it until something eventually falls in to place, and feeling hopelessly lost along the way. A pastel encapsulation of those few years in life where nothing seems to make any sense, struggling at the crossroads between perceived expectations and being happy with who you are. Maybe being a barber's son isn't so bad after all. The perfect film to watch with some wonderful friends on a Sunday evening.
