Someone in the movie calls the young ladies, "The bitches of Eastwick." I can't write anything as good as that quip but here are some words anyways. The Craft doesn't capture the drama of predecessor Clueless nor the campy horror collective of next year's Scream. While there are great moments, the order of events (plot) felt off. For instance, after they cast their first round of big spells, death included, we see their minds blown by a spell that changes hair color. If you just ate a liter of chocolate chip cookie dough, a sip of apple juice might resemble tap water. "We are the weirdos, mister" indeed, but I wouldn't have minded weirder. If you love spooky CW shows, then you're in luck, the template is The Craft.
