first time seeing it in theatres, and in 35mm no less! the sound really pops, and hearing the in-flight announcement during tony’s airplane antics was something i hadn’t picked up on in previous watches (or maybe it’s just an older version of the film). truly a magical movie.

Shiva Baby 2020
growing up as someone following a non-traditional career path in a jewish family, this hit so close to home. this is like every single family gathering on my dad’s side rolled into one movie lmao
dialogue is on point, the score reminded me of my favorite takemitsu scores (woman in the dunes & pale flower) and the way that seligman builds so much tension and stress in its 72 minute runtime is really impressive, especially as it’s seligman’s debut feature. really looking forward to seeing more of her work in the future!
