Imagine one would rate art.
This film is about communicating feelings in the most reasonable and respectful way possible. Most of the dialogue takes place between Greta Lee and Teo Yoo, who together have the most touching on-screen chemistry I've seen in a very long time.
Each dialogue takes its time, is calm and thoughtful, but never feels too long. The same is true for cinematography. Past Lives is full of outstanding shots that will stay with me for a long time.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
An early 90s coming-of-age story of two young people in very different, but also kind of same-ish life situations. The story is getting mixed with a childhood dream: Being locked in at a supermarket overnight.
Once i started enjoying the chemistry between the two main characters, it all got interrupted by a store robbery, which was the weakest part of the movie for me. Nevertheless, it was a fun ride.
