Possibly the most gorgeous restoration I have ever seen. So rich in color. So full of sound, even the silences have shapes to them. Absolute masterclass.
And the story itself is very engaging. I was much more taken w the quick escalations of the final act. The setup dragged a little too long, and I wish we could've revisited the women washing clothes far less.
Aslani did so much to establish place w close ups on little details of the house. I have to imagine there was a way to establish the unfolding of the story w more of that kind of storytelling.
But still a total masterpiece, and it has sparked an interest in me to track down more of the director's work.
