Le Samouraï

Le Samouraï ★★★½

Assassin's Life

He is the best at his job and never traceable.
Too bad that exactly at the first job we join him, he screws it up, Big Time! Good thing that he wore a beige raincoat so nobody saw him, wait...
But a job is a job and so it must be done.
But love is also a battlefield and the only thing standing in the way.
What to do, what to do?

Well, it's a French movie so you'd might guess where this goes from there. At least it's one of the best of the country I've seen so far, it just seems that I can't get into the atmosphere and mindset which is shown here and in a lot of French productions. I can't put quite my finger on what it is, that doesn't align with me.

I liked The Remake a little bit more.
I don't see too much of a samurai in this installment. Forest Whitaker much more ingrained the whole philosophy of a Samurai living the Bushido way.
